This is one of the most useful applications I’ve come across in a long time. Available on both Windows and Mac (and iPhone), Simplify Media is a lightweight program that tums your PC into a streaming audio server. You can access your music on any computer that has the Simplify Media software installed. It’s genius.
First you create an account. Then you just install the free software on the PCs that you want to connect, linking them to the account you created. During installation, specify the directories on your computer that house the music you’d like to share. Once the setup is complete, you’ll have access to those music directories anywhere! The sound quality is amazing, too. I stream music from my office PC to my living room at home and it’s crystal clear (as long as you’re on wi-fi). If you’re using EDGE or 3G, the quality will be degraded a bit. It sounds like a 64kb/s mp3. The best part about this software is that you can ‘Invite’ your friends to share each other’s music … Invite me. My screen name is “alexmazzucca”. Simplify Media can be downloaded here.

Excellent! Like a free-form Guitar Hero, Wii Music doesn’t rate or score you. You can create original music using all of the major Wii interface devices. You can even create an accompanying music video! I can’t wait for this. It’s coming out this Christmas.
